This week has been a pretty busy week – and it’s not over yet!!
Monday Baby S had to be at a medical center at 8am, which meant we had to leave the house at 7am. Thankfully his tests came back good, and we don’t have to go back until August!!
Tuesday we woke to 3 more inches of snow, but we braved the insane roads to get the kids pictures taken. I think we have it down to a science now – we were in and out in less than an hour, and we did Sophie’s birthday, the girls, Easter, and Valentine’s Day.
Tuesday afternoon J had a visit with her BP and Baby S’s BF confirmed for a visit, so I bundled both babies into the car and drove to the CHS office. I dropped J off first, and then Baby S and I had to wait for 1.5 hours for his BF to arrive for a visit. He arrived as J’s BP were dropping her back off to me, so I had to leave Baby S with the case worker and drive J home for dinner. The case worker agreed to drive Baby S home after his visit was done. The case worker arrived much quicker than I thought – turns out the BF only stayed for 23 minutes. Sigh.
Wednesday I totally forgot that we had a make up day with Classical Conversations – and the one day when I wanted the weather to be crummy so we could stay home it was fine!! Thankfully the girls had a good time in their classes, J had a good time in the nursery and Baby S had a good time refusing to nap the entire time.
Today Baby S and I are headed to see the orthopedic surgeon about his feet. From what I understand, they will remove the casts he’s had on for 2 weeks, fit him for a new set of braces and then re-cast him for another 1-2 weeks. I’m seriously hoping that we can avoid surgery!
If I’m totally honest here, we haven’t done much school this week at all….and I’m kind of okay with that. The reason we decided to homeschool was to do life as a family, and believe me….we are totally living life right now. It’s not the sunny, all’s right with the world life – but it’s our life and it’s good!
I’m thankful for these fabulous kids who bless us completely!
I’m thankful for my husband who said yes to a blind date 12 years ago!
I’m thankful for power, heat and plenty of food.
I’m thankful for sweet friends who reach out and know when we are overwhelmed.
What are YOU thankful for today?
