Monday morning I left freezing cold NJ and headed to frigid NY to be with my mom who was having surgery. I grew up in Western NY, and while I should be used to the cold and snow….I’m not. I can honestly tell you I have NEVER been so cold! I am very thankful for a good heater in my car and for a very warm hotel room.
I’m very thankful that my mom came through the surgery okay, and while she has a long recovery ahead of her, including radiation, the doctors are hopeful she will make a full recovery. I have to admit that waiting in the hospital during the surgery was not the easiest thing, but I’m very, very glad that I was able to be here for her.
I’m so very thankful for my awesome husband who is taking amazing care of our sweet kids, making sure that Baby J got to her visitation and everyone got to Classical Conversations. He is my rock and I am so very blessed by him.
I’m also thankful for the prayers that were offered on for her and for me this week. While social media can be overwhelming at times, I feel really blessed to be able to ask with a simple sentence on twitter or facebook or instagram for prayers and to be inundated with those prayers coming in. The positive power of social media!!
These are my blessings this week – and I’m excited to be heading home to my sweet family today. I have a feeling I’ll be back up in NY to help my mom with her recovery, but for now I’m ready to kiss my man and hug my kids!
What are you thankful for this week?
