After yesterday it was a little hard to find some blessings.
Baby S was supposed to have surgery on his tiny feet yesterday. The surgery that was supposed to happen last week, and couldn’t due to a paper work *issue*.
When I arrived to get him admitted, the hospital still didn’t have the correct paperwork.
Because it was before 9am I wasn’t able to contact anyone at the DCP&P office.
Baby S got bumped from surgery again.
I’ll spare you what transpired in the THREE hours that I waited at the hospital trying to get this sorted out. I’m sure you can imagine.
I came home frustrated, in tears with a monster headache.
I questioned why in the world I thought I could handle foster care.
I came pretty close to just giving up.
I didn’t – and I’ll tell you why.
Today, I am counting these blessings:
*Baby S, an innocent child who needs someone to advocate for him
*The admissions staff at St. Chris who were trying to help as best they could
*Our CHS caseworker who is a trooper and just listened to me vent
*My sweet husband who let me nap
*Sophie and Bella who knew that mommy needed to be loved on and gave me countless hugs and kisses
*For this verse: Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
That verse is why I didn’t give up. I have NO idea what our future looks like; if Baby J or Baby S or another babe is in it. But I am claiming this verse that HE knows what our future looks like, and HE has it. All I need to do is trust and obey.
Now it’s your turn! Share how YOU have been blessed lately!
