One of my 3in30 goals is to scrapbook at least 2 pages a week. I really want to keep up with our albums, especially as our lives are getting busier.
I scrapbook 12×12 pages for our yearly family album, and each girl has an 8.5×11 yearly album for special moments. I have to admit that I am a bit crazy about keeping on track and the way that I scrap. I like to scrap in order {go figure!} so I start in January and keep on going. Once in a while I’ll jump ahead, but not often.
I scrap by event, so I always print my pictures first and then try to figure out how to get the pages set up, which admittedly can take me forever. Seriously – I have been known to play with alignment over and over. {and over…….}
I came up with the idea of creating page kits so that when I have a few minutes I can grab a kit and get it done! It worked awesome a few weeks ago – I was able to complete 20 pages in 2 hours!!
Here’s how I set them up to go from this disaster to an organized pile:
Grab your base paper and patterned paper
Figure out embellishments that you’d like to use
Add any memorabilia
Add pictures of the event
And you have a page kit ready to go!
I also keep all my tools {adhesive, scissors, ink, pens, etc} in one place so it’s ready to go.
I also challenge myself that when I pull out a page kit I only use what is in the kit – I can’t go into my stash! That way I make sure I’m actually using up supplies.
Do you scrapbook? What works for you?
